My name is Cameron Laubscher and I am a Registered Counsellor. I have completed seven years of study and have been working as a Registered Counsellor since 2010. I have a Bachelors and Bachelors with Honours degree in Psychology as well as further postgraduate specializations in Registered Trauma Counselling, HIV/AIDS Counselling and Interpersonal Counselling.
I worked as a Registered Counsellor in private practice in South Africa for two years before immigrating to New Zealand in 2012. I settled in Hawke’s Bay and worked in the field of addictions at the Hawke’s Bay Regional Prison for CareNZ.
In 2014 I moved to work for the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board with the Child, Adolescent and Family Service (CAFS), where I worked as a family therapist until 2020.
I have since started my private practice.
I consider myself to be compassionate and caring. I like to assist and work alongside clients/patients from all walks of life and of all cultural backgrounds to achieve psychological wellbeing and to overcome the difficulties they may have encountered.
I work with individuals, couples, children, adolescents and families. I am a fully registered member with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and am registered with ACC.

My training was in both diagnosing and treating mental health difficulties, as well as a focus on criminal psychology. I have worked with offenders and in correctional psychology for the last ten years. During this time I have also worked in mental health, especially with individuals following injury.
